What is Osteoid Osteoma?
Osteoid osteoma is a benign bone tumor seen in children in adolescence. It usually occurs in the leg bones and manifests itself with night pain. Such tumors can be temporarily relieved with painkillers.
Symptoms of Osteoid Osteoma
Night pain and bone tenderness are the most common symptoms of osteoid osteoma. Pain usually originates from the tumor focal point called the nidus and is detected by X-ray or CT.
Treatment Methods of Osteoid Osteoma
Surgical intervention is applied in the form of removing the nidus and reconstructing the bone tissue. This tumor, which can be treated with minimally invasive methods, usually requires a treatment method with a short recovery period.
Treatment Methods:
- Surgical Curettage
- Removal of the Nidus with Minimally Invasive Methods
